bex
I have just had a meeting about a dragon I am making- I thought it was a fabric adaptation of a Chinese dragon. However its not. The director would like it to breath fire out of its nostril so a major rethink on materials plus I don't know where to start with breathing fire (other than physically fire breathing onstage) as a device that can be fitted to a prop? Has anyone done this? Is it possible (and safe?!) Many thanks Bex
DrummerJonny
Smoke Machine and a few Appropriately-Coloured birdies in the mouth of the Dragon?
ImagineerTom
Actual fire is a no-no; it can't be done safely without lots of specialist input and expensive kit; not to mention extra crew and changes to lots of other equipment used in the show. Smoke machine (using fast dispersing fluid) with small high-power orange and red birdies all hidden in the head looks AMAZING though and your audience will swear blind it's actual fire. Ynot
..... The director would like it to breath fire out of its nostril.....Gawd save us all from directors who 'want' something without really giving any thought to whether it's safe, or even feasible... :(
