Door Prop

We have a door with frame being used for a dance production we are putting on in a few weeks. The prop is pretty awkward to move around, especially when trying to get it on-stage during a blackout. My train of thought is, that putting castors on the bottom of the frame structure (which features 4 struts to keep it upright) will make it easier to move around. However, the issue with this is that the prop will then be raised off the ground, and the dance co-ordinator is worried about people tripping over the bottom of the frame as the step through the door. Also, castors may also mean that the prop will move about when the dancers are slamming the or whatever it is that they will be doing.

Any suggestions?

How about putting the (non-swivel) castors on the back of the base plate such that they do not touch the floor until you tip it over slightly. You can then move it 'wheel barrow' like to get it on and off. When it is stood upright the castors will be off the floor and you do not gain any overall height to the base plate.
