Backstage phones

For those venues that have phones in places like prompt corner, by the sound desk etc, what type of phones do you use, and in particular, how do you ensure it doesn't audibly ring during the performance, and how does it indicate that it is ringing?

ordinary cheapo phone with switch-offable ringer, and a strobe which we bought from CPC cheaply. Works quite nicely.

Can you still get the BT handsets for the deaf with the flashing neon built into it?

 

There are umpteen phones which give a visual signal around today and it is simple enough to silence the ringers permanently.
