Advanced Learning Loans

Recommended Posts

This looks good but when they say training organisations do they have be on a pre list of organisations?

, 24+ Advanced Learning Loans will be available.

You don’t have to pay these loans back if your loan is for an Access to Higher Education course and you successfully complete this and go on to university.

Loans will not be means tested or subject to credit checks and you won’t have to pay anything back until you earn over £21,000 a year.

To apply for a loan you must be:

  • Age 24 or over at the start of your course
  • Resident in the UK
  • Not previously had a loan to do the same type and level of qualification

You will be able to apply on-line from April 2013.

These loans are for learners 24+ who wish to study at Level 3 or Level 4, including QCF Certificates and Diplomas, Access to HE, A-Levels and Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships. For Apprenticeships the learner and employer are expected to share the costs of the course, so the loan you would take out would be for your half. If your course lasts for more than one year, you’ll only need to take one loan out. If you go on to study at a higher level you can get another loan. You can have a maximum of four

Moderation: I moved this from the commercial ads section to here - I assume this is where you meant to post?

To qualify you must be:

• studying with a college or training organisation in England approved for public funding

• enrolling on an eligible course at Level 3 and Level 4 which includes: A levels, Access to HE Diplomas, other Diplomas and Certificates, Advanced Apprenticeships or Higher Apprenticeships

There are other caveats in the document.
