smoke on cue

Need a smoke machine that fires when the stage manager says "go smoke" and not 2 mins later when the machine has decided its ready....any advice on makes and models? ...ta

Pedantic but important. Stage managers NEVER say Go Smoke, they say Smoke Go!

 

All better smoke machines, once up to temperature produce smoke instantly, or with a consistent delay. Once you know the delay time, get the Stage Manager to cue it early. Even hugely expensive smoke machines have a delay - and on bigger stages, you also need to factor in the actual arrival time of the smoke where you need it.
