serious_sound&light
I remember being in a nightclub where an add-on prism rotator was hanging off the front of a fixture by its safety cable. In this case, the primary support had beeen gaffer tape! In contrast, I have acquired some secondhand Cantatas where even the gels have safeties. There's fair a few lanterns where it's a damn good idea for the gel frame and barn doors to have safeties on them. They tend to be, mostly older, designs where there isn't a robust clip in mechanism. Most modern lanterns it's only a possible problem if someone hangs them upside down. On the original topic it's good advice to put concerns in writing with references to industry best practice what's less clear is what you do in a situation where there is actually an immediate hazard. In a adult setting you can simply walk away after making your concerns known, in secondary educational setting it's not so clear cut.
