I was planning on working out a method of keeping the material taught over the 'hula hoop'. The lastolite idea is great, I will look into that. Maybe I need to way up front vs rear projection.. Ordinary muslin (cheesecloth)can be used as a poor man's scrim for rear projections, it also has some 'give' in it to tension it up. Then there's also a medium cotton lycra which is a little more opaque.However will a round frame from poly tubing be rigid enough to cope with the fabric's tension?We once made an imitation Pink Floyd iris at school where a white circle of transparent fabric was sewn into a square surround of black opaque fabric, that completely eliminated issues with projector blanking too.
