Padderz
Iam in the process of designing a lighting show and I need some software to check that my show looks how I want it to look before the show, it needs to be fairly easy as I am new to this area of work Thanks Matt
david.elsbury
Welcome. Blue room search isn't very good. Try a Google search with site:blue-room.org.uk on the end. We have done this to death. https://www.google.co.nz/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=Lighting+design+software+site:blue-room.org.uk&oq=Lighting+design+software+site:blue-room.org.uk&gs_l=hp.3...5574.6556.1.6789.9.9.0.0.0.6.472.2547.3-2j4.6.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.1.bLpqlgycH1s&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=7dd5295f2d836305&biw=1525&bih=
Shez
To help with your search terms, visualisation / visualiser is probably the word you'll need to look for. Design software would typically be the CAD type software in which you draw the rig plan, rather than expect to be shown what it looks like. The good visualisers are very expensive and have a pretty steep learning curve. It's also useful to have some real world experience to help interpret what it shows you - it's not an exact science.
