peterdevon
Someone managed to get smoke out of a speaker the other day on the carnival float and it would have appeared to have come from here on the Fane cx1 crossover http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii18/zpeterk/Photo0063.jpg He is now dismantling the good speaker to get the numbers off it, what type of component is it? Thanks Peter

TallMike
Yup, it's a resistor - if you want a replacement, buy from CPC / Farnell or Maplin or RS. Search for 'Arcol' and you should find one that meets the specs.

audiomik
Peterlooking at the large washers used for mounting your crossover board and how they visibly bridge PCB tracks, do you have some insulation other than just the PCB coating under them? Tap washers can work well for this And yes, 25Watt metalclad, 5R0 is correct - RS Part Number: 158-503 hope this assists Mik
