Bazz339 Posted June 13, 2012 Share Posted June 13, 2012 I am testing out an AVX PDA 200 2 prior to using it in an installation. It sounds distorted both on headphones and loop (Meter and listener) off a mic input I have not had too many problems with these amps before but in the past I have always gone into them at line level off a mixer or similar. It also seems to just cut out when it limits. Loop impedance is about 0.6 Ohms so within its range. Phantom power is 12v so at the bottom end of what the mics I have tried but it does not sound brilliant with a dynamic mic. Anyone any experience/comments? Simon Lewis Posted June 13, 2012 Share Posted June 13, 2012 Can you try the line inputs with a CD or something similar? If that's clean, then the mic pre may be broken.
