dear all,

a question that always bugs me, the large ice skating rink on dancing on ice has a very nice clear image and video on it. Is is projected? if so how do they make it to fit and design the images that go onto it!

Cheers

Sam

A recent Facebook status from one of my recent students.

"Just been stripping a projector 12m above the ice at DOI, but Martin and I brought it back to life!"

He works for Anna Valley Displays Ltd (along with a few more of our graduates)

From Anna Valleys Site

"ANNA VALLEY DISPLAYS "PROJECTING ON ICE"

Dancing on Ice, ITV's most watched, award winning, live entertainment series returned to our screens again this year and Anna Valley was once again chosen by ITV to supply projection, a 6mm high resolution LED and flat screen displays.

Working again with Lighting Director Dave Davey, Anna Valley Display technicians deployed 8 x Christie Roadstar Projectors configured as 4 stacked pairs edge blended, both horizontally and vertically, to compliment Dave Davey's unique lighting designs."

Hi Guys,

Anna Valley Displays has provided 9 Christie Roadster Projectors this year, as well as Hi Res LED and other video elements.

The Projection is 4 double stacks of Christie 16K Roadsters, with an additional 12k Roadster for the Skate on area.

We use Roadster projectors as they are the only ones we've found which have a bubble designed to work pointing vertically downwards.

I've taken over project managing this for Anna Valley displays this year.

Many Thanks

Pete Jones
