Jay Addison
Hello Wondered if anyone can offer any suggestions to the following. I am about to go on tour with a play which has a fire place as part of the set. On this fire place there is a A3 size Mirror. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to take the glare off so that the FOH LX dont reflect back to the audience and blind some members. I would like to keep the mirror as a feature instead of simply covering it up. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Jay
themadhippy
Hairspray or vaseline are the usual methods
Mat
I have used Vaseline as well as very very thin white spirit brushed over.
tommulliner
Quite a few plays I have done insist they use mirrors in their set http://www.blue-room.org.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif Hairspray is what we usually use to take the glare away, its works quite well without making is obvious the mirror is covered in something. All the best, Tom
Jay Addison
Thanks for your suggestion everyone. Hairspray seems to be the simplest option so ill give that a GO. Cheers
erroneousblack
You'll also find a more ready supply of hairspray than vaseline! That said when I started in the business many years ago, it was the other way round! :o
