RoyS
Hi All, I have to fabricate a large hairspray can 1.8m high for a show (I’ll let you guess which) The can needs to be large enough to hold a performer in a large dress and for them to emerge through doors on cue. I’d also like to incorporate a ‘working’ spray top utilising a can of instant ‘smoke’ www.maplin.co.uk/smoke-spray-in-a-can-20746 I’d like the top of the can to look like a traditional aerosol nozzle. Budget for this prop is not massive of course – £200-300 (poss more). Was thinking about laminating several thicknesses of 3mm plywood for the main cylinder body – and using ratchet straps to hold in place before the glue goes off. The base would be solid and incorporate hidden casters and weight (50mm poured concrete) to help mitigate tipping… Readily available materials +++ Any thoughts on fabrication techniques, especially the top and cap…. Also does anybody know of good web sources for prop/set manufacture? Many thanks. Roy
