gleek96
Hi, Can you suggest a cheap smoke machine for under £50 that has a reasonable output. It is a school show so doesn't need to be anything special. Gleek96
Ynot
Are you looking to buy?Because if so the sort of machine you get for £50 will be next to useless for most theatre applications. Slow warm-up cycle, unpredictable output, etc. However, to HIRE a smoke machine with decent control and output is much more likely for that amount.Check your local hire guys. pritch
I'll second what Ynot says. The problem with cheap smoke machines is that all too often, they can't heat and pump at the same time, so you'll find that if the machine's been on for, say, half an hour before you need to use it, by the time the cue comes up it'll have cooled down and will be warming up again - meaning that you can't produce any smoke. cedd
Keep an eye on the usual suspects for ex-hire. Last year I picked up a Martin magnum 2000 for under £50. Looked a bit rough but still doing great service!
