Props for FlatSpin

Hello,

 

My society is staging Ayckbourn's FlatSpin in April and needs to devise the trick coffee table. Has anyone any experience in creating this, or perhaps was involved in the touring or West End production and can explain it or provide plans (or even knows where the original is!)?

You could do worse than contact the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, of which Sir Alan Ayckborn is still artistic director. I'm sure they have any and every piece of Ayckbornobilia (?) in an archive there somewhere.

The table conceals two briefcases, one within a further concealed compartment, loaded and removed on an open stage within the same scene. Although we probably could devise it, we're hoping to avoid reinventing the wheel.
