ceecrb1 Posted May 10, 2011 Share Posted May 10, 2011 why are is what looks like triax camera cable being used for audio Nothing wrong with that, I have here a set of adaptors for running AES/EBU down triax... bet it works great too!Truth is I've done it a few times too... but via camera and ccu.the benefit of taking your own OB truck to gigs is that you can "cheat", ie you get to use all the little things you wouldnt get to if you were onsite with an independent ob truck...eg use the 2nd video/prompter return channel sent to cameras for plasma screens, rather than run an entire new bnc etc.. mic ins from cameras to save on cable runs etc etc..We have even once sent a mono feed down the intercom channel of a static camera in an emergency...
