ddproduction
Hi all, Anyone know of any cheap piece of equipment that is capable of delivering a single preprogrammed static DMX state? The scenario is out village hall in which the less technically minded users can simply plug in the dimmers and turn this 'thing' on! Any ideas? :)
AHYoung
Try http://cpc.farnell.com/milford-instruments/1d553/DMX-512-transmitter/dp/HK00997 youll need to put it in a box, but add a rotary switch and you can have a load of static states... ddproduction
That seems the sort of thing we need, might be a bit expensive for its necessity though :/
peza2010
Ahhh I was going to suggest a zero88 DMX linebacker or Something similar, but I then saw you thought the CPC product above was too expensive....
abbotsmike
Cheap six channel dimmer, some clever patching and addressing (So that they have x number of channels, but patched into 6 'zones') and a laminated sheet of A4 for instructions?Cost - £40 or so + a bit of patience. Most people should be able to flick a switch and push some faders up.
J Pearce
Agreed, make ch1 stage, ch2 spot, ch3 blue etc. With careful patching this sort of setup can work well.
Brian
The cheapest finished product I know is the Showtec Scenepilot. Sells for around £60 on eBay.
ddproduction
Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys - will be putting these to the committee to see how desperate they are! All for the want of not getting out our Chauvet preset board... :/
