Cupboard
Sennheiser e835 Having used something that was either that or a very similar Sennheiser mic in the past, I thought it sounded awful, much preferred the sound some cheap Behringer dynamic mics gave. Might just be because it was old and hadn't been looked after.
revbobuk
True enough - the Behringer XM8500 is one the best cheap '58 clones. We use the Sennheiser mics, and find them good but just a little bit too mellow to work in a busy mix.
soundo26
I won one of these packs in a music raffle last year, didn't think they would be up to much but was pleasantly surprised when I got round to using them, excellent value! http://www.gg-digital.co.uk/product/10030111040013-wharfedale-dm2.0-microphone--3-pack.html
TallMike
Cheap mics will always sound 'acceptable' or 'good' - but get them in a busy stage full of monitor wedges and instruments..
Andrew C
The other thing to consider (not specifically the OPs link to an Amazon trader who looks legit) but there are an awful lot of awful clones out there. Buying from a reputable trader has advantages...
OneEng
My favorite is the EV ND767a (the e835 would rate honorable mention in my book too). They can be had for ~$100USD. I wouldn't dream of spending $50USD on a "cheep" microphone when such a great mic can be had for 100USD.
