raicttec Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Hi Everyone,We have just got a new electric screen and projeciton system installed in our main hall. The screen is fantastic but as you can imagine it sits flush against the back wall, ususally not a problem when doing normal assemblys and showing videos etc. But when using the screen for presentations and formal gig it means that the speaker who is using the lecturn has no way of checking for instance the slide has moved on when using powerpoint as we use a wireless presenter linked to a hidden computer.Has anybody any ideas on how to achive this? We though of small LCD screen but cant find the right sort of product which we could use the exiting lectern which would be clear enough. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Karl
nickb12345 Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Hi There are lots of small LCD screens floating around on ebay (from 3" to 12") Could you not put one of these on/inside the lecturn with thee projected image being duplicated onto this? HTH Nick
raicttec Posted November 20, 2004 Author Posted November 20, 2004 Cheers NickI have had luck but they all seem to run on video do you know of a decent convertor from VGA to video. Cheers Karl
computer Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 does the PC not have a TV out in the graphics card? if not a cheap PCI graphics card with tv out might be cheaper than a convertor
TomLyall Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 You can get some very good graphics cards with Tv-out VERY cheap, mine was around £35, from http://www.dabs.com PCI, 128mb, dual monitor support (ones on DVI), Tv-out, fairly good overlay support, works great with my DVB TV card...
raicttec Posted November 20, 2004 Author Posted November 20, 2004 Cheers EveryoneThe machine is one of the small NVIDIA MSI barbone boxs which has the built in tv out on the board just never thought! Next Question does any one know of a decent video sender which we could use so cabling isnt a problem? Cheers Karl
computer Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I use a KAT5 system to send the onstage camera to outputs around the venue. Pretty cheap and uses existing Cat cabling... If you want wireless then a 2.4Ghz Sender/Reciever from Maplins will probably do the job...
raicttec Posted November 20, 2004 Author Posted November 20, 2004 KAt5 Looks good where can you buy it and how much? Cheers Karl
Jivemaster Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Hi-tech solution --- fit the lectern with a wing mirror, the little "blind spot" mirrors seem to fit the bill.
computer Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 well it can be quite expensive, but it was the best solution for us, you can find the details at here and just email Keith for more info on his site...
