Approaching companies in relation to student projects

And to expand on this issue. If looking for some sort of sponsorship don't use the expression that a guy used with me two years ago which was when I asked what he was looking for, ie materials or money he replied with 'as much as we can get' !! After he'd said it the second time I had to ask him to not keep saying it!!

Funnily enough we were told this week that the university has gotten feedback from some of the larger/well-known companies that they have been inundated with similar requests from students.
