Midhertslighting
I am involved with a local Am Dram group and amoungst our kit, we have a Zero 88 Betapak. One of the channels no longer works having been connected to a ParCan when the lamp itself blew up. The fuse almost disintergrated, but with the new fuse fitted, the channel is permanantly live. Can anyone recommend a good repair agent in the South East - Preferably in Herts, Beds, Bucks, Cambs or Essex as we are based in Hertfordshire. pritch
How handy are you with a soldering iron? A single channel being permanently live on a dimmer (especially after a fuse/lamp has blown) is often a faulty triac on that channel.

pritch
With it being a Betapack there's a documented issue with going full brightness on the wiki. I'd have thought, with it only being one channel rather than a pair, and with it having coincided with a lamp failing, that it was more likely to be a dead triac? Midhertslighting
Thanks for the swift responses. I had already read on wiki about the pair of channels failing. This is definately one cahnnel only. I am quite deft with a soldering iron, but I havent the time to get it wrong and we do have a bit of money for a proper repair, so thanks Paul, I'll give you a ring in the morning
