Flamebar

Hi,

 

I have a production of Animal Farm coming up and they want to use real hay bales. How would I go about flameproofing them? I would imagine that the bales would just soak up gallons of flamebar or would a good once over the exterior be sufficient?

 

Any ideas, or advice would be very gratefully received.
