etc ion gooseneck lamp

Hey guys, just a quicky if I may.

 

Does anybody know of a reason why my gooseneck lamp does not work in my ION. The lamp works fine in my strand but as soon as I plug it in to the ion and turn the dimmer up to turn it on there is nothing. Do you have to have a certain type of gooseneck lamp or something like that or am I not seeing a setup option to turn it on???

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the pin connections on the two desks? If you have a LED lamp, then plugging it into a socket with the wrong polarity of supply could do permanent damage the either the desk or the the lamp.

I would say the live/neutral are probably on different pins. I just had to rewire one of my goosenecks from an old Zero88 Bullfrog for it to work in the new Congo jnr. I would imagine if you have the manual to hand there will be a wiring diagram for the socket somewhere near the back.

Pin 1: Not Connected

Pin 2: 0v (Dimmed leg)

Pin 3: +12VDC

 

Connect the lamp between pins 2 and 3.

 

- Do not connect the lamp to the shell of the XLR, as that is protective earth.
