pritch
Apart from a 5-pin XLR, what's the difference between an OpenDMX USB dongle, and this? I'm looking to use it for a bit of experimentation - I certainly won't be entrusting anything critical to it! I'm wondering if it's vaguely plausible that it might work to send DMX before I go and spend the vast amount of £13 to get hold of it. It's an FTDI into RS485 driver set up, which as I understand it is pretty much the same as the OpenDMX thingamabob - or am I horribly mistaken? pritch
"Uses the SN75176 tranceiver, so you can have up to 128 devices on the bus" Funnily enough, the manual (linked to from the ebay listing) says 32 devices - so I wonder where the seller got the information from?
