203 : Intelligent & Automated Lighting

Recommended Posts

We will be running the above course at a venue here in Edinburgh on the 18th Feb.

This one-day course aims to introduce students to the range of automated and moving lighting equipment now in common use in productions. Students will be introduced to the different types of fixture currently available such as scanners, moving heads and LED products. The mechanics and operation of these units will be studied along with the relevant control systems. DMX is also explained in detail. Finally, programming techniques on some common lighting desks are examined. Once again, theory will be backed up with demonstrations and hands-on exercises to enable the students to appreciate the tools and techniques discussed. By the end of the course students should have a good understanding of intelligent lighting fixtures, how to control them, program them and troubleshoot common problems.
