johnhuson
I think you need to be a bit more specific, are you looking for CAD software or software which assists in calculating loadings?
simploerob
was looking for a simple design program drag and drop . trying to get people (with the money!!) to understand what the truss would look like and give them an idea of what we are looking at doing. is CAD the best place to get it done ? (altough not as simple as I was hoping for !!!) thank for reply smon
paul the paranoid lampy
Some truss companys do their own, LiteCAD by Litec is one example. there is a demo version of litecad that gives you a few drawings free. It only works on Litec truss, and will not calculate loadings, but will give you a kit list of what you need. hope this helps

DSA
This sounds like an instance where good old pen and paper may be far superior to any drawing package! By all means draw it up in CAD when you have a final solution, but design is a process - and along the way you will probably find a paper solution much much quicker and easier to work with. A good hand drawing can be just as good (and with practice, as quick) as something created using a computer.
savage1
http://www.castlighting.com/cast/software/....jsp?SUBCATID=2 admitidly not free but the demo is great fun to play with.
larrisbarris
go to google and download Google Sketchup - You can import drawings from the 3D warehouse. It is simple to use and the results are great. It is free and will give you as good a result as a programme like Wizzy Wig which is what the pro's are using. Plus for muppets with cash it shows them what they can get. Search lighting truss and it may have what you want already drawn for you by siomeone else.
