David Ripley
Hi all I am currently creating a 3D library of UK lanterns for LD Assistant. I am adding what is now obsolete equipment but still found in many theatres. I have details on most of the Strand stuff but don't have any dimensions for the Patt 743. A data sheet will do as I can scale from that. Unfortunately the Strand Archive doesn't have this so I'm not overly optimistic. Although these don't need to show every rivet I want them to show the overall shape and size Failing that anyone fancy measuring one for me? Also if anyone has any requests for particular lanterns, please let me know at ldassistant@cad4theatre.org.uk The lanterns created so far are AltoCantata/OptiquePreludeQuartetMinimPatt 23/123/264/243/252 Many thanks in advance David
paulears
There is a data sheet for the 223, they're exactly the same shape and size - only the lamp is different. Two for the price of one, so to speak.
David Ripley
Hi Paul I can't see it on the Strand Archive only instructions, where is the 223 data sheet? Both 223 and 743 links point to the same page Cheers David
Bryson
Slightly offtopic, but I assume the symbols will also work (minus the fancy features) in plain old AutoCAD, right?
David Ripley
Bryson Were they generally available they are still just blocks and so would work in AutoCAD. However as you say LD Assistant adds all the 'fancy features' such as turning them on, pre vizing etc David
Neil Hampson
I have a Pat.743 at home, I can measure it up at lunchtine if you still need, just let me know what the minimum details you need are going to be.
David Ripley
Hi Neil I won't ask why you have one at home! Dims required are length, width and depth of body including narrowest and widest parts as I think it's slightly curved, yoke dimensions and lens assembly diameters and depths. I have photo references so if I have that I can work out the rest Please send it to me at ldassistant@cad4theatre.org.uk Many thanks David
Neil Hampson
In answer to your first question, there is a pair, mounted on a perch in my stairwell, wired to light up the hallway in my house (F*ck the leccie bill). David Ripley
Cheers Neil That's very useful, much appreciated Is anyone still using CCT gear? If so I'll add those in but they seem very quiet, and absent from most trade shows etc David
