The laptop is about a metre from the powered mixer. We have resorted to running the laptop off its battery whenever possible. The mixture of equipment running of one socket can add to hum, even make it worst. Seperate your power supply's to sound, lighting and laptop can help I have found can reduced hum. With the help those earth loop isolaters, most times hum can be reduced.
