Scanners

Hmmm...

As has been said before, DON'T buy kit.

Look at each and every show you do and decide what sort of kit is right for each and every lighting plot then go to your local hire company and hire them in (at cost to the individual company involved).

Theatre shows don't tend to be suited to scanners, (or even any movers at all).

Talent shows and concerts may be, but could also have the more available moving heads instead.

Buying kit at 15/16 is not really the best option - even if you had a decent wedge of cash to buy decent quality equipment.

Sorry - probably not what you wanted to hear but the only realistic option open to you.

I would agree

We had bought some scanners for similar events, and to be honest its better to hire in proper moving heads if you really need to. Ours run off DMX which is fine to do, but ive you havent got a good desk, its not the best idea unless you have a controller. They are also quite noisy at times. It is too expensive to buy good ones so I would agree with Ynot

Renting is the way forward.
