Lincoln Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 It is likely that the new MSER regulations will now be delayed until 1st January 2005. The reason for this is that the Parliamentary scrutineers have raised several concerns about the repeals of existing legislation (eg the acetylene bits of the 1875 Act). Otherwise the editorial changes of the regulations have been very slight. There is, however, some confusion about what the Health and Safety Executive will currently apply to licence applications - MSER distances or 1875 Act distances. The British Pyrotechnics Association and the CBI Explosives Industry group have been assured that HSE intend to use MSER distances, and that they will revise their guidance notes shortly to reflect this... robloxley Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 For the uninitiated - albeit someone who's forgotton the last time he did any pyro work - what are the salient points of the new regs, that have been agreed?
Brian Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Hi Rob if you go the the ASP website here, there is a link to a short article, on the front page, about the new MSER proposals.
