mutley
Hi all I'm looking for a video of a moving clock face (any time shown), and especially a clock with a 13 O'clock, for the school production! Just a simple video of about 10 minutes is perfect. It's a town hall clock tower in the Wizard of Oz, and will be edited to crossfade between the Wizard and the clock at various cue points. I've spent a while looking on the net, :) but keep ending up on porn sites (redirected by junk / spam sites), or on pages giving instructions on making one in flash or html.... ;) Otherwise, it means me spending ages trying to animate one myself somehow, or videoing a real clock and trying to matte the clockface surround out, and don't have time to do either! Thanks, in hope!....
boatman
I don't know if it helps, but here's a time lapse from YouTube with no camera shake. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=PEUqvJMy1nk&...feature=related You might be able to glean some stop frames out of it. IRW
How's about something like this: http://www.irwdesign.com/br/clock.swf I made it a few months ago for a production by our theatre's youth group, and can modify it fairly easily (both speed & looks) if you wish! I published it as a .exe file, set up a projector as a 2nd monitor to the left of my screen and used my own masking program to mask out the title bar & border, hence the big green start button which was over on my local screen- a crude way of doing it, but I only made it the night before the show! peternewman
I used an image of Big Ben and with a bit of careful editing separated out the clock face and the two (or possibly three) hands. Then its a fairly simple task in any reasonable video editing software to make them rotate at the right speeds (you will probably want to make them rotate about the pivot of the hand, rather than the edge, but that's easy enough. I should be able to dig the bits out and send them across if you want. The 13 may be a bit more challenging I guess some of the graphics software should allow you to do squashes with funny angles to fit the extra digit in, or just draw a new clock face by hand. mutley
Thanks for all your help and suggestions folks. The Director has *YET AGAIN* failed to tell me when a job I'd originally been asked to organise, has already been done by someone else! (Which went down really well while I was up a scaf tower putting up an 11m wide backdrop roller tab - which we'd built from scratch!... :Shoots director in the head: :)
