allsounds
Our current valence we use to hid our cabling at conferences is in a bad state and we are in need of a new one. We currently use a black panel 'exhibtion style' panel system. what does everyone else use? Thanks Matt
Andrew C
Valance around what? For our Fastfolds, we've just had new ones made by a curtain/soft furnishing company. We put poppers on ourselves. Bought from High Street haberdashers.

grahamdking
You could just use a black drape of appropriate size, or a flat. For monitor desks I have used fine black netting before, especially if the monitor desk is otherwise visible on stage. It allows the monitor engineer to see the band but the audience can't see in.
mac.calder
When I was in corporate the preferred method for control surrounds was something like Unique's Pushups (Warning - PDF). Ours were plain silver poles with black velvet drapes, and done properly, the poles are almost invisible (all you see is a little bump where each pole is). Treated well, they look REALLY good. Bryson
3' P&D. Isn't that what everyone uses?
stoneworld
I use a combination of 4x4, 6x4 or 8x4 flats covered in black felt.
Colin
If it is just for FOH and you are trying to be hidden off in a corner I would recommend either the venues draping option (i.e. in keeping with other furnishings at the conference) or Black wool surge, because: its cheap(ish) so is disposable when it gets trashed, cheap so can be cut to feed cables through etc, if the bit doesn't fit another can be overlapped without it looking odd. The Gaffa
Black Wool Serge or Black Scrim (DFR treated) both reasonably cheap soloutions, or if available some of the house dressing drapes.
TAG1960
In general for corporate gigs crew surrounds are provided by the set company, and are made of black material covered flats 8x4, 6x4 etc to length with 4x4 returns. The rear of the flat usually has about a foot of material folded over so you dont see any un-treated wood. I am sitting behind a lovley 16ft example right now!
