kerry davies
After much discussion as to the merits or drawbacks of the concept of a Creative Sector skills academy on the BR, visitors to PLASA will get a chance on the Monday and Wednesday to learn a lot more about the academy and Creative Apprenticeships. LSI, September has interviews (pp38-40) with C&CSSC and the newly appointed chair of NSA, Paul Latham, who happens to be President of Live Nation UK. It would be good to get some feedback from BR members after the show and raise a discussion as to what they think about it. What is the future of training and education for technicians in the entertainment and live event sectors? What is the future for degree courses vis-a-vis a more vocational approach? PS: if you think this is purely aimed at rock'n'roll the deputy chair is Ric Green, director of operations for Opera North and the HQ site is owned by ROH.
