sameness
Im currently trying to find a compromising level for an electric violin which is using a Sennheiser EW100 bodypack and receiver. If I set the bodypack to 0db, then it peaks the receiver and starts to send a slightly distorted signal, but if I drop the pack down by 10db then the level on the receiver is better but for some reason the channel needs to be gained fully to get any sort of signal. I have tried adjusting the violins own level but it doesnt appear to make much difference. Last nights show was run at -10db on the pack but created lots of noise from the desk preamp. Any ideas? Simon Lewis
Have you increased the output level from the receiver to compensate for the reduced level from the pack?
Pyramid
Hi Simon's answer is the problem. As well as having adjustable sensitivity on the bodypack, there is a 'AF out' function that controls the level of the audio output from the receiver.
