swampman
One of the reasons I avoid self powered speakers is the extra cable complication of power and signal... Separate seems a mess and two cables to coil defeats the simplification (and the speakers can be heavier...) Together: a/ expensive b/make your own... ok. How do I hold them together? Solutions:-self amalgamating - I like it (I use it for chuck keys on hand drill cables )-heat shrink - expensive, many bits need to be cut (will try it though) ...-string and knot wrap old radio style ... labour intensive, not too tidy, wears-cable ties ... cut your hands -spiral snake wrap... waste of time and money Oh well
Rob_Beech
A good method all in all, keep it neat and you'll not go far wrong. It'll give you much more time to get the boxes sounding good.
KevinE
Just watch the earth-loop impedance as well if you're making a giant extension lead, if in douibt, PAT test it with the lead it'll be used on.
