Can anyone recommend a fairly decent, but cheap RTA in hardware form? Or, alternatively is there free RTA software kicking about somewhere?

I've never really felt the need to use one, but I'm open to giving it a try. I'm not wanting to buy Smaart or other options unless I know it's do more good than my ears.

cheers in advance

Decent but cheap? That'd be the Phonic PAA3. Some people really like it, others get huffy and bang on about it (and all RTAs) being time blind. Me? I'm playing with a Norsonic 118 - Class 1, 1/3rd octave band logging with LEq, stats and bargraphs - real diamante canine testes... ;-)
