2nd audio input for camcorder

Right!

you have the choice of unbalanced mic inputs on 3.5mm jacks, plus two other inputs available on phono sockets at mic/pad/line level - so the options are many. You can feed audio in and out in two or four channel mode. Most people use two. You can treat them as stereo using a sereo mic, or two channel, with say, front mic on one channel and a radio receiver going in the other. Many people use an external adapter that has proper XLR inputs so you have balanced and phantom powered inputs.

ALL of this is in the manual, AND in the downloadable material on the manfacturers web site AND simply loads of camcorder forums as it is a popular camera.
