hi, I wondered if anybody knew anything about the lighting for the London musical "we will rock you" as I need info for my gcse drama. Any websites or contacts would be gratefully received.

Willie Williams (LD)

Rig includes Mac 2000s, Mac 2000 Performances, Studio Colours, Mac 600 NTs, Atomic Strobes, Parcans, Scrollers, Lycian Followspots. Hundreds of sparkle strobes.

The Rig is supplied by Stage Electrics, although the international versions have come from Fourth Phase.

Stage Electrics also built a custom fixture which is basically three 24v lamps attached to a rotator - they're used right at the end when the onstage trusses fly in.

In the Mac 2000s are a couple of custom glass gobos (Global Soft logo).

Recently WWRY have been having problems with the magenta dichroics in the Studio Colours, with the actual dichroic coating peeling off the wheels.

All controlled from a Hog II (with overdrives) plus another one as backup. A lot of the cues are MIDId together with the Sound and AV desks.

There was an article in L&SI a while back about it. Willie Williams has a page on his website about it, including some production photos.

Also they used the mirror ball at the begginning dont know if they got that. It was a great effect.

There is also quite a bit of laser use during the show. Not sure what they used, but perhaps a Google might help.

Just to chip in, I'm pretty sure the strobes used on the London show were Martin Atomics. Not sure about the other shows.

Yep that is correct, Peter said that in his first post;
