bruce
As David says, make sure it's isolated.
dbuckley
It says its a press box, and in the catalogue it says "eight discreet isolated XLR male outputs" and "(Due to the D.C. blocking characteristics of a transformer, the isolated outputs will not pass phantom power", so probably fine for the application. On the negative side, it uses the term "mic signal" several times, so the tranny may not be able to handle a line signal without saturating. Buyer beware, get it on sale or return! I also highly approve that it's got plastic sockets, which removes another possible problem, when some dick connects the body of the XLR to the shield of the cable. When one is on dodgy isolationist territory, plastic plugs and sockets rock. A lot of folks hate placcy XLRs, but I'm firmly of the position that they have their uses. Just not on the end of Roger Daltrey's mic cable, for example... http://davedraper.com/blog/wp-content/Uploads/2006/11/who.jpg Always like a good excuse for a gratuitous picture....
