I only ask because laptop power supplies are notorious for introducing lots of interference into the audio signal. If it is a problem for you, running off the laptops battery should solve it. External USB sound 'cards' are also supposed to sort the problem, but I have no experience of these. In my experience external soundcards make no difference - but if you have balanced inputs on the mixer then leaving the sleeve (or XLR pin 1) disconnected eliminates the problem. Just connect the signal to the tip (XLR pin 2) and the laptop ground to the ring (XLR pin 3). Cheers James. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
