Johnno
Reading a Jensen Transformers Application Note dated 1995 I was puzzled to see RCA/phono connectors referred to as IHF connectors. That's a new one on me so what's it all about? (A google search on "IHF connector" hasn't helped).
bruce
My understanding is that IHF refers to signal levels rather than connectors, and is a (fairly obsolete) way of referring to signal levels as used in the domestic/hifi/budget-audio world - the unbalanced -10dB stuff. "Institute of High Fidelity" or something like that.... for example, see this article on "new IHF standards for amplifiers", Taken from HIFI/STEREO REVIEW, January 1966
Johnno
Thanks for that Bruce. I'm not now surprised that I've never heard of it before.
