shadaca Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I'm trying to track down a Waterphone - not the noise but the instrument, as the show is all live percussion. Do any of you have one? or know someone that may? - A pretty picture of one... just so you know its not in my head. http://www.oddmusic.com/gallery/waterphone1.jpg
J Pearce Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Footes who are located in Golden Square (no 10 I believe), should be able to source pretty much any percussion going, but it may not be cheap.
Jivemaster Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 A serious wander round Soho from Golden Square to Denmark Street, should offer you several likely suppliers BUT price and availability may differ.
Suzette Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 You could try www.beataboutthebush.com As their website says: A warehouse full of instruments from every musical age, era and avenue. The specialist supplier for Film, TV, Commercials, Music Videos and Theatre. BEAT ABOUT THE BUSH . . . MUSICAL INSTRUMENT HIRE
MikeR Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I'm trying to track down a Waterphone - not the noise but the instrument, as the show is all live percussion. Do any of you have one? or know someone that may? You know google really is your friend http://www.richardawaters.com/waterphone/Richard Waters makes them and as far as I am aware contacting him is the only way you will get hold of one short of borrowing one. Sometimes I wonder why I stopped reading this forum and then I drop by again. Hey ho.
shadaca Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 Ive done all that... real Waterphones - there are two in the country, and I have investigated both of them. I think its going to be a replica since the patent has been released. So... any other ideas? (basically I only post when I have exhasted google, beg borrowing, stealing, suppliers etc... I'm not a novice type <_<)
