tonymaslen
we would like to use multiple projectors to create a single image, using for example viewscape (barrco) to blend the edges, not a problem you say.... well no but we have an application that calls for a Large Convex screen... with limited Rear projection throw distance so this will have to be done from front projection. I have seen on the web many applications of multiple projector for concave screen, but using only Single projectors with 180 degree lens on them Will it cause focusing issues? Will it also mean long periods of time pin cushioning the images prior to projection? Will the Gradient of the convex screen affect the image? Will having a convex screen cause more problems than its worth? answers on a post card to.... david.elsbury
Suggest you search for "Projector Stacking"
tonymaslen
Thank you but thats not found anything along the lines that we need!
Tomo
Will it cause focusing issues?Yes. It will be almost impossible to have a sharp focus across the whole screen due to the varying throw distance. You'll have to choose an area to get pin-sharp, and accept a little fuzzyness elsewhere. Will it also mean long periods of time pin cushioning the images prior to projection?Yes. But this is always true if you are joining the image from two or more projectors. Will the Gradient of the convex screen affect the image?Yes. You'll have sto correct for some odd deformations (or consider them part of the effect), and a brightness gradient across the screen due to the varying throw distance - further away=dimmerWill having a convex screen cause more problems than its worth?Your call!It will be fiddly and take a lot of setting up - but it may well look utterly stunning once it's done.- Your team are the only ones who can really say whether the effect is worth it.
