Pyromark
I have a little treat for you all, this will be on our new cd rom, but you can download an executable version of it here: http://www.lemaitreltd.com/ftp/apps/pyro_designer_v1.zip It is only version 1, version 2 will be much more useful as a tool with custom backgrounds, entire range, export mpeg etc etc. let me know what you think, and suggestions for improvements in version 2 are welcome! WARNING - It is Highly Addictive!! Mark :D

the kid
Don't know about how useful to a propper user but possibly being able to do some form or sequence with it.
slipstream
Could be useful for outlining the effect to a client, I had kinda hoped the flash near the leg would set it on fire, but that could be somthing amis in my life R
d_korman
I know this is only version one - I think the proper tools needs: ability to select all devices from your range, inc colour etc.Multiple firing channelsDevice to channel allocationchannels to be armed for firing simultationabililty to define how the devices are wired, series/parallel etc, and to calculate firing voltage/current requirements.Ability to check these against capability of selected control system (characterstics of le maitre controllers built in plus ability to define our own) and that means the ability to define cable lengths and gauges to be used to rig.full interactive graphical simulations of your controllersability to print out setting/rigging sheets, plus automatically pull up the materials safety info.ability to print out order form I'm sure more will come to mind. pritch
Was it wrong of me to find what looked like a fire exit and pile as much stuff in there as I could?
soundo26
I'd like to see the facility to be able to angle the gerbs for Fanning etc.to have the entire pyro range available including Fetti drops, airbursts etc.And to be able to edit the stage area and drop in objects so I can use my set designs in thereand to be able to fire off multi events
slipstream
We're just never happy are we - still when the retail version at £299 comes out I am sure it will do all that and more R

d_korman
I know this is only version one - I think the proper tools needs:{snip huge and unrealistic wish list}Bl00dy hell! Whaddya want for nothin' - rubber biscuit?! :D I don't expect to get it for nothing. There is plenty of Open Source software out there, some of it very specialised, that IS available for nothing, and much more complex than this. And a lot more that is not open source but is licenced at a reasonable cost, ie <£100.
PDD
Bl00dy hell! Whaddya want for nothin' - rubber biscuit?! :DYou're right - but he's got some good ideas... There's nothing to stop Le Maitre producing a 'pro' pay version for those who want to do serious show designs (like a WysiWyg for pyro!), and then the simple 'lite' version for free, as is. Don Allen
Cute concept, glad to see the stage curtains are flameproof as well as the theatre seating. What about a demo function for the pyro selection area to demonstrate what they do individually before you place it on the stage, or a window opens with data on the pyro to aid selection ?
