Tinks
I am a student going to uni in september to study costume design and construction just wondered if you had any advice on useful computer software I could buy to help me on my course. ;)
w/robe
I'll talk to some people and see what they recommend, but most designers are either still on paper and pencil or have picked up softwear in a random way as they have gone along. If you are going to be taught CAD on your course you would probably be better getting in touch with the course and asking what they use then you could mug up on it before you arrive rather than learning 2 different programmes. Tinks
Cheers! The help would be great. I was thinking of getting photoshop and an image database and things like that just to help out a little. But further suggestions of programmes people have found useful would be grand! ;)
Nick S
If you're planning on working a lot on your own (rather than using uni equipment), might be worth investing in a graphics tablet, even just a small one.
the kid
I was going to suggest photoshop actually but depending on what you want to do you can do courses with it. There are some good image database sites on the net I use one occasionally but can't find the link at the moment.
