Why you shouldn't ignore H & S

For those people's bosses and bean-counters who think you can choose to ignore H & S audits comes a story from my local paper of someone who lost part of a leg, after an accident at work.

The accident happened in February this year when a worker got trapped in some factory machinery. This occured even though an internal H & S audit back in August 1998 and an external one in Demember 1999 made various safety recommendations; which the company choose not to fully implement.

This decision cost the MD £5,000 and the company £45,000 in fines along with £1,000 costs against the MD and £7,633 against the company.
