The outgoing DMX addresses are pre-set to:Projector 1 : addresses 1 to 6; Projector 2: addresses 7 to 12, etc. You only need to set theappropriate start address on the connected equipment , i.e. 1, 7, 13, 25 etc. There are 6 functionsmax. per start address available. This SkyTec DMX controller has a built-in memory for 9 differentprograms of 50 steps each (scenes) allowing automatic control of different light effects. In each ofthese scenes (steps) you can determine a combination of settings for the position of the mirror, thelight colour or the light intensity. When you run these steps in sequence, the connected disco lighteffects produce the requested light pattern.ConnectionConnect the controller to the disco light effects (projectors or dimmer packs) via XLR leads. Set thecorrect DMX start addresses on the connected units. Example: You have two DMX projectors and 3DMX dimmer packs. Set the DMX addresses on these units to 1, 7, 13, 19 and 25.Plug the mains adapter into the socket on the rear side and into a mains outlet. Switch the controlleron via the power switch at the rear side. A short confirmation signal is heard and the controller runs ashort test program after which the displays shows 0000.Set upThe SkyTec DMX controller offers the possibility to couple the signals of the outgoing channels i.e. aprojector which is connected to group 3 (address 13) can run in a program that is controlled by group 1(projector 1 on address no. 1). Keep the SELECT button pushed in until the message SET isdisplayed. Once this message has disappeared after 4 seconds, you can select via the UP/DOWNbuttons the number of the light effect that you wish to couple. The selection is activated by pressingthe INSERT button. The SCENE display shows ON. Press the DELETE button to switch this functionoff. OFF is now displayed. Shortly press the SELECT button to leave the set up mode.Manual OperationYou can operate the connected light effects manually via the slider controls 1 to 6. Shortly press thePROGRAM button until the display shows 0000. Push now the ‘PROJECTOR’ button. The displayedfigure becomes a ‘1’ with a dot next to it. This dot means that you can change the setting. Select therequired unit via the buttons ‘UP’ and ‘DOWN’. Set the light effect via the slider controls. Depending onthe connected light effect units, these controls allow you to set 256 steps on all used channels. It canbe the position of a mirror, a colour or the light intensity of a running light. To switch the manualoperation off, push the PROJECTOR button until 0 is displayed again.Programming scenes into the memoryIt is possible to store 9 different programs of 50 steps (scenes) each into the memory. Shortly pressthe PROJECTOR or PROGRAM button when the display does not show the four 0. Hold thePROGRAM button down (± 2 to 3 seconds) until the figure in the PROGRAM display starts flashingwith a dot next to it which means that you can make a selection. Select the required program number(1 to 9) via the UP/DOWN buttons. The green programming LED continues to flash indicating that theunit is in programming mode. Then push the PROJECTOR button and choose the required light effectvia the UP/DOWN buttons. When doing this, the light effect must be connected and set to the correctstart address. Check if the projector or dimmer reacts to the controller. Set the desired effect, positionof the mirror or projected colour via the slider controls, and confirm the setting by pressing the INSERTbutton. The number in the SCENE display is automatically increased by 1 and you can now programthe following scene in the same way and confirm the new setting by pressing the INSERT button. Youcan set up to 50 scenes in a program. Press the PROGRAM button to exit the programming mode.Erasing programmed dataErasing scenesKeep the PROGRAM button pressed until the ‘program’ display is flashing. Choose the scene displaywith the SELECT button (two dots appear). Select the scene that you wish to erase via the UP/DOWNbuttons and press the DELETE button twice. Exit the programming mode by pressing the PROGRAMbutton.Erasing a programYou can erase in one go all programmed steps (scenes) of a complete program. Keep the PROGRAMbutton pressed until the ‘program’ display is flashing. Select the number that you wish to erase via theUP/DOWN buttons. Press the DELETE button, then the PROGRAM button (AL is displayed) andagain the DELETE button. A double zero (00) is displayed in the scene display. Exit the programmingmode by pressing the PROGRAM button.Running a programPress the PROGRAM button and select the required program number via the UP/DOWN buttons. Theset scenes are now played automatically in sequence. Set the slider control (1) to zero and set thespeed with the slider control (2). The slider control (1) has only a function when several light effectprojectors are connected and some of these units are coupled in the SET UP.Manual operation during an automatic program runIt is possible to switch a unit to manual mode during the running of a program. Press the PROJECTORbutton and select the unit via the UP/DOWN buttons. When you move one of the slide controls, theselected unit leaves the automatic run and you can control the settings via the slider controls.
