Jivemaster
Looking into a Lyon Forge B700 I see 2SD424s as op devices with TIP47 as drivers, and I scent that delicate aroma of burnt amp! Who made these things and does anyone still mend them?
andylouder
I may be wrong but I think terralec used to flog them , I think I remember it from a catologue I had in the early 90's. Had a quick look on their website and didnt see any.
Pete Alcock
Jivemaster, As Andylouder said, Lyon Forge amps were designed and made by the founder of Terralec. I have a P400 which I blew one channel of a few years ago with a shorted speaker cable. Spoke to the repair technician at Terralec and he said it was almost certainly going to be the driver transistor. The output devices normally survive apparently. He was right and very kindly sent me one. Been going strong ever since. Good luck, Pete.
