Chris Beesley
Can you elaborate on the "They dont work" ?? Have you addressed the scanners correctly?Do they react to any of the commands you give them?
scottbramall
Can you elaborate on the "They dont work" ?? Have you addressed the scanners correctly?Do they react to any of the commands you give them? Its flickering slightly (As in every so often the bulb comes on and the mirror moves) then goes of. Apart from that it is just in its home position. They are addressed correctly (channel 1)
Brian
That really sound like the polarity is incorrect. The other possibility is that the refresh rate is too high for the scanner.

Brian
DMX units send a complete packet of channel information several times a second, up to 44 times a second IIRC (too lazy to get the spec out). DMX receivers which are used in cheaper kit sometimes have a problem receiving at this rate. For instance sounlab 150W colour changers don't work at this rate nor do the commonly seen Showtec/Botex 4-way dimmer packs. I don't know if you can change it on the unit you have? You could try different software to drive it, a quick search shows that freestyler should support your interface.
woody74
Long shot but, are they really old scanners with dip-switches instead of an LCD?
