PLEA for Schematic Diagram for Martin Atomic Strobe

Ricochet UK

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am looking for the Schematic's for the PCB in a Martin Atomic 3000 strobe. I understand these might be hard to find as there not on the Martin website,

I just thought I would ask you helpful people on here what you think,

Or the other way to look at it is if anyone has a broken or faulty Atomic strobe or PCB Bord's thay want to get rid of, that might also be a help to us,

I know on the scrounge againhttp://www.blue-room.org.uk/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gifhttp://www.blue-room.org.uk/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

Thanks for your help

Andy

Have you emailed Martin about your problem?

When my Fibresource QFX150s died they were very quick to send me a partial schematic, although it only temporarily fixed the problem as it turned out that there was a serious underlying software fault.

Thanks for your reply,

Yes I did contact Martin by phone and they did not really want to help as I did not have an account with them (even Thu I sell there products which I buy from Electrovision) But anyway thay basically told me to call AC Lighting, who could only give me a price for a new compleae PCB Bord,,

hmm,, not really what I want to do,

Thanks Again,

Andy

I doubt wether there would be a lot you could repair on a broken board even if you have the schematic as the circuit boards use surface mounted components. Unless you have specialist tools, then it would be quite difficult.

There are schematics available for the Atomic 3000 but they are only available if you have at least technician level access to the support site. As your profile states you have attended a Martin service course I'm suprised you don't have this already.

If you have been on a martin training course you will have access to the training website, the same username and password will give you access to the lighhting support section here. From here you should be able to view the circuit diagram.

Martin do offer a refurb board service which is a lot cheaper than buying a brand new one, especially for the atomic which is very little more than a pcb and a lamp

Is there any chance of you posting a pic of the board?

If it's as simple as people claim the probable failures are

  • Step up Coil burnt out
  • Self resetting fuse has decided not to self reset
  • Output power component has died
  • Track burnt off board

I take it there is no evidence of physical damage to any component (or any sign of the magic smoke escaping)?

Hello, thanks for all you help, very quick reply as I dont have much time at the mo,

Yes there is damidge to the PCB bord if you look at the picture you will see 3 Resistors (R127 & £134? along with R179?) thay are the parts I need the value for, then all going well the track can be reapared and the resistors replaced and hopefully it should be back working ok, :)

Talk to you soon,

Andrew,

R127 - 1 ohm

R134 - 470 ohm

R179 - 6.8K

Where are you getting these values?

The colour codes on R127 show it as 100 Ohm

and on R134 as 2k2. (2200 Ohm)

R179 is burnt beyond recognition but as it's the protection resistor for the LED it should be easy to work out (measure the voltage, subtract about 1.7V for the LED and select a resistor for about 10mA).
